Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan Says, Goodluck Jonathan Must Be Re-elected 2015


DELTA State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan has said President Goodluck Jonathan has no option than to yield to the yearnings of most Nigerians and seek re-election in 2015.
Dr Uduaghan who addressed a mammoth crowd that turned out for a rally organized by  the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) to drum up support for the re-election of President Jonathan in 2015 at the weekend in Port Harcourt, Rivers State said the President must contest in the 2015 general elections. The rally which made Port Harcourt to stand still was for the states in the South-South geo- political zone of the country comprising Delta, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Edo and Cross Rivers State.

According to Dr Uduaghan, the aim of the rally was to speed up the President's decision to contest for the Presidential elections in 2015. “If he (Dr Goodluck Jonathan) fails to recontest, he will not return to the Niger Delta, he will not come back to Port Harcourt,” Dr Uduaghan said, asserting, “President Jonathan must contest for the Presidency in 2015.” The Governor who put the support of President Jonathan re-election bid to vote reiterated, “South South has spoken with one voice, that you (Dr Jonathan) must contest. If we are to give reasons he must contest, we will not leave here today - the East/West road was abandoned for years, it is nearing completion, he has done so much for us, he as given us a Maritime University in Delta and we are all saying he must come back to continue with his good works, for him to complete the good works he has started,” 'Dr Uduaghan stated.

The coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister for Finance, Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala at the occasion said, no other Nigerian President had done what President Jonathan has done, observing that Nigeria is one of the fastest growing economies of the world. Those who spoke at the rally which was attended by the people of the South South geo-political zone and lovers of democracy, pledged unflinching commitment to the reelection President Jonathan in 2015.
