Governor Rotimi Amaechi Of Rivers State Lashes Out At Nollywood Stars For The Wrong Use Of Their Career As Movie Stars

It was quite a thrilling moment as much as a cold time as well for many of the Nollywood stars that were present at the Best Of Nollywood Awards that was held yesterday in Port-Harcourt,Rivers State, following the regret and disappointment speech credited to them by the Governor of Rivers State, Honorable Rotimi Amaechi.

According to a close source to Ymzonline, it was said that the main reason Governor Amaechi lashed out to them was that they have not been making good use of their spotlight to shape the lives of the citizens for good, rather many of them are only portraying images that seem to demean the essence of being stars and role model, which they are envisioned as. The Governor states that many of these stars are people who found themselves on the path of acting as a result of mere circumstance, owing to lack of jobs, but advised them to see their career as a medium through which they can touch lives more positively.  He further said that they should not limit their dreams only in the acting scene, but they can as well diversify it say into politics, so their vast experience gathered over the years through acting can be felt by people of the country at large.

He proudly stated that he's always in the act of assiting several stars such as Kate Henshaw, Joke Silva and others who pays a visit to him anytime, and that he was instrumental to moving into politics by Kate Henshaw at this time.

Most of the Nollywood stars present as at when he was making this speech were;  Liz Benson, Kenneth Okonkwo, Shola Sobowale, Desmond Elliot. Others are, Moses Inwang, Dickson Iroegbu, Bob-manuel Udokwu, Patience Ozokwor, Elvis Chuks, AY, Iyabo Ojo, Emem Isong  and a host of others.

It was finally said that most of the Nollywood stars present at the event got angry when he 'Gov. Amaechi' stated that he ventured into politics in order to make money, and to many present, it wasn't a good speech from a states man, who's supposed to also act as a role model for which he's tasking others.

To this extent, these stars through Actors Guild Of Nigeria [AGN] said that there won't be any such opportunity for this kind of derogatory speech to occur again, they stated.

What do you think by this whole drama put across here? Do you think this was an intentional let-down on these stars by Gov. Amaechi or a sort of speech to get them on the right path forth-with?
