There has been turn of events lately as the 2015 general elections lurks near, especially among the people of the political class in the nation of Nigeria. One such of events that seem more like a drama was the defection of the Speaker House of Representative 'Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal' from the ruling People Democratic Party (PDP) to the main opposition party, All Progressive Congress (APC) . Following this development, the PDP stalwarts are thereby calling on the Speaker to tender his resignation letter in reaction to his cross-carpeting act.
In the statement released by the PDP through the party's press secretary , it read thus;
"After a thorough consideration of the matter, the NWC (National Working Committee) came to a conclusion that the Hon. Speaker, as a responsible elected officer, knows fully well what is needful and honourable of him, since his new party is in the minority.
We are not unmindful of the fact that Hon. Tambuwal became Speaker on the platform of the PDP as the political party with the majority of seats in the House of Representatives and that this incontrovertible fact has not changed”.
