[Photo] Car Dealer In Lagos Arrested By Anti-Robbery Squad, 'SARS For Dealing On Stolen Vehicles

Alhaji Mahmud Abdulakeen Tanko, the merchant of stolen cars in Lagos

Can you spot this man right there? Well, his names are Alhaji Mahmud Abdulakeen Tanko and he's 48-year old man, a car dealer based in Lagos, but only to be confirmed that he specializes on buying stolen vehicles which he markets at his Car Shop.

He was arrested by the team of Lagos state Anti-Robbery Squad, 'SARS' for being on the trend of marketing cars that are snatched by armed-robbers who basically operate along Abuja, Lagos axis.

It was said that Mr Tanko got arrested in Abuja after a member of the robbery gang that usually supplies him with stolen cars got apprehended by the police in Rivers state and he confessed, on having link with the car dealer, Mr Tanko.


This car dealer was paraded along 4-other suspected associates of his in this ugly business, and their names are; Musa Yusuf, 27, Israel Nana, 30, Moses Andrel, 25 and Abayomi Adebayo, 53.

But when he was interrogated according to my source 'PM News' Mr. Tanko says that he was aware that the cars he buys from the young men were stolen cars, but he only buys them because they are cheap, as it will enhance his rise in profits, saying that he is not a thief.

One of the gang member by name Adebayo who was arrested in Lagos, was the one who specializes in making the forgery for the  Chasis numbers, while a Liberian called Anrel, who works as a driver with UACN, confessed of having sold 4-cars after he got arrested at Oyo state; while Nna who got arrested in Rivers state said that he had already sold 2-stolen cars.

The Commissioner of Police , Lagos state 'CP Aderanti' said that his men were able to apprehend the armed robbers via intensive surveillance, aggressive patrol and cutting edge technology, and also confirmed that about 16-cars which includes a Toyota Camry, Nissan, Sienna, Outlander Jeeps, Toyota Sienna, SUVs were recovered from the robbers among others.
