Pastor Adeboye Clears Allegation On CAN President
For the past few weeks, the atmosphere of the
Nigerian polity as well as that of the Christian Association of Nigeria “CAN”
has been boiling to its threshold following the recent seizure of the a
Nigerian-owned aircraft by the South African Customs, which was revealed to be
conveying the sum of $9.3million for the purchase of military ammunition to fight against Boko-Haram Islamist Terrorist in Nigeria.
Going by the reports released on the identity
of the said aircraft, it was said to be a private jet owned by a Nigerian
Pastor and the General Overseer of Word of Life Bible Church, and as well the
President of the Christian Association of Nigeria “CAN” who is none other than Pastor Ayo
Oritsejafor. Since this incident, reactions and counter-reactions have
continued to trail the very motive behind this ugly and corrupt act perpetrated
by some of the top officials in the government in connection with a
high-profiled Man of God.
Fortunately a very revered Pastor and the
founder of the Redeemed Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye seem to have come
to the rescue of the embattled CAN president, by stating from his London trip
that, he may not be there as at the time of the incident, but from all
perspective and truth, he can vouch for Pastor Oritsejafor to be innocent of
the allegation leveled against in him, because he has known him quite well over
the years, and can at any time attest to his innocence whenever it’s called
for.
He thereby called on the Federal government to
intervene in the matter to prove Pastor Oritsejafor free of these false and
malicious allegations.
Also, in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant
to President Goodluck, “Dr. Doyin Okupe” said Pastor of Oritsejafor is a Man of
God and also CAN president and by virtue of that position stand to represent
over 50% of the Nigerian people, so when it comes to a man like that people
should be cautious and circumspect.
He further stated that Nigerians should
stop politicizing every issue of national interest, as it does not conform with
the Patriotism for which we all owe to our dear country.
