It has been reported that German Christoph Daum was approached by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) to replace the Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi, who has since the just concluded Brazil 2014 World cup been on logger-heads with the NFF regarding contract fee increase. That is to say Coach Stephen Keshi has been a freelance-coach per say to Super Eagles football team of Nigeria, since after the World cup finals in Brasil.

Meanwhile, the former Bayern Leverkusen coach "German Christoph Daum" have been reported by a close source to have stated he turned down the officials of the NFF who approached him with the offer of replacing Coach Stephen Keshi.

German Christoph Daum, in his words to a German website, stated thus “I had offers last week to become coach of Nigeria,”  He further stated that "“By next year, I’ll take over a team,”

Currently, we confirmed that Mr Daum is not ready to engage into any sort of coaching services now, until next season. We are yet to confirm if the NFF will agree to renewing of  coach Stephen Keshi's job with the Super Eagles  on the terms of contract fee increment.
