Captain of the Capsized South-Korean Ship Jailed 36-years
The report that I have right now has it that the Captain of the South Korean Sewol Ship that capsized in April 16th, 2014, which killed over 300 students on their way to a field trip as well as some other 4 passengers on board was today being 11th day of November, 2014 in a court sitting at South Korea, sentenced to 36-years , because he was found guilty of violating the 'Seaman's Law' by abandoning the Ship leading to the death of the passengers.
He abandoned the ship for which was the captain and reached out for his personal safety while over 300 hundred passengers' lives were hanging in the balance.\\Also, the Ship's chief engineer was found guilty of murder ad was sentenced to 30-years in prison, and the other 13 crew members were sentenced to 5-20-years in prison as well.
This is such a huge loss, and it was sad that a captain and the crew members could act in this manner that is unethical to the Seaman's code of conducts.
