Local Vigilante In Adamawa State Recaptures Mubi Town From Boko-Haram Insurgents
This is fantastic and very interesting to know that a local vigilante group in Adamawa state, that is comprised of civilians alone have recaptured the lost Mubi town from Boko-Haram insurgents between the 12th and 13th of November respectively. They were reported to have engaged in a strong battle with the terrorist group and they eventually defeated them and drove them out of their town to recapture it.
When this latest development was being communicated to Premium Times, the Director of Press to the Adamawa state government 'Phineas Elisha' stated that it was the synergy between the local Vigilante group and the Nigerian Military that facilitated the defeat of the deadly Islamist terrorist, thereby causing them to flee their town that had earlier being captured by them since 2-weeks ago.
In his exact words, he stated as thus;
“His Excellency, Governor Bala Ngilari, has confirmed that the combined efforts of the Civilian Vigilante and the Sarkin Bakan Gombi as well as the military has successfully chased away Boko Haram from Mubi town. Some of them (Boko Haram) ran away through Askira Uba and others through Mubi South and the situation in Mubi now is quite different from what it used to be.”
This is good to hear, and I'm so glad that this local vigilante group have decided to take this onus and fight for their land and people. I hope the FG shall assist them and equip them with more arms for security.
