Troop of Nigerian soldiers recapture many towns in Yola from Boko-Haram
Report reaching my desk right now from Sahara Reporters has it that a Nigerian Brigade Commander 'Colonel Popoola ' was said to have been shot in the shoulder by some members of the Boko-Haram sect in a gun battle with the Nigerian Army on Monday, the 17th of November, 2014 .
Colonel Popoola who is the Commander of the 23rd Brigade in Yola , Adamawa state had on that fateful day led the troop of Nigerian soldiers deployed from Jos in a battle to recapture the lost cities that were already taken hold of by the Boko-Haram, and in the process, he got shot in his shoulder. Immediately after that incident, he was rushed to the military hospital in Adamawa , from where he was later transferred to the University college hospital Ibadan for proper treatment, said a military source.
However, the four commanders who left their troops during the gun battle of trying to recapture the lost towns have been arrested and they are; Lieutenant Mohammed, the QRG commander of 234 battalion; 2nd Lieutenant UC Uche, Platoon commander of Bravo Company of the 234 battalion; Captain Lawal; and Lieutenant Buraji who is Mararaba platoon commander.
Amongst the four soldiers was Captain Lawal who was arrested yesterday and being taken to a military confinement at the 23rd Brigade in Yola, Adamawa state.
