United Nations Sue for Violence Free Election In Nigeria Forthcoming Polls
The United Nations, UN, has enjoined Nigerians and its political parties to avert any move of violence in the forthcoming 2015 general election in the country.
UN made this call through Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for West Africa, Mohammed Ibn Chambas, while on a courtesy visit to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb Aminu Wali, in Abuja, to shun every act that may incur violence in this elections, so as not to plunge the Nigerian nation into a political anarchy.
The UN Envoy, said that the United Nations and the world at large has a strong confidence in Nigeria, going by its pedigree and level of maturity and humane, that it will conduct an election which shall not be marred by violence, malpractices and rigging.
Mohammed Chambas further said that the World's eyes are rested upon Nigeria at this time, to enable them watch and investigate how this election will fair, so it is already believed that Nigeria is a great nation, and also as the most populous black nation in the world, has all it takes to ensure a free and fair elections in the 2015 February 14th Polls.
He affirmed that the political parties, their aspirants and the Nigerian nation should provide an all inclusive atmosphere to engender a level playing ground for the citizens of the country, for them to exercise their franchise without any fear of contradictions, to ensure an undiluted elections in this 2015.
