Ban Ki-moon, UN's Secretary General

The United Nations have agreed to lend their support to the five West African Nations' resolution to launch an attack on Boko Haram Islamist terrorists.

The UN Secretary General, Bank Ki-moon, stated this in an African Union Summit held in Ethiopia, that the proposal of the African Union to enable five West African nations set up Multinational Joint Task Force, MJTF of about 7,500 armed troops to fight the Boko Haram insurgents.

Ban Ki-moon, said that the Boko Haram terrorists since its emergence in 2009, have killed thousands of people, numbering up to 13,000 and as a result caused over millions to be displaced.

He further claimed that this is a regional crisis, involving directly, Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad and Niger. This must then be fought by all the regions affected, as they have been backed by both the African Union, AU both in terms of funds and other ways necessary.
