Ben Cohen enjoys Evening with former Strictly partner Kristina Rihanoff

Former rugby player Ben Cohen spent the evening prior to announcing the split from his wife with his former Strictly Come Dancing dance partner. The 36-year-old was spotted supporting Kristina Rihanoff at her Dot Com Children's Fund Charity Gala on Tuesday evening.The one-time dance partners were seen leaving the venue separately before Ben took to Twitter to gush about his wonderful evening.

He wrote: “Fantastic @Dotcomcf & @KRihanoff event last night. Inspiring speech's by all.. Raised lots of money and the dancing was a amazing!Well done.”

On Wednesday Ben, who was still wearing his wedding band on his night out, insisted that no one else was involved in his decision to move on from wife Abby. The Mirror can reveal that Ben’s wife Abby attended several Strictly rehearsals as the show put a strain on their 11-year marriage. A show source said: “Abby was around Strictly training sessions a lot, especially at the beginning of the show. “It seemed she wanted to keep tabs on Ben and seemed concerned and not that comfortable he was taking part. “It is hard for wives to see their husbands getting physical and hold another woman,” the insider added. After the show finished dad-of-two Ben went on the Strictly tour with Kristina.
