I Would Have Left Baking To Sell Akara Says Producer, Blessing Effiom Egbe

Nollywood producer and director, Blessing Effiom Egbe, has disclosed that she does not regret leaving banking sector for Nollywood.

Blessing who happens to be the producer of Lekki Wives, stated that even if she had not gone into the make-believe industry, she would have left banking to sell Beans cake (Akara) because of the situation that was surrounding the sector then. According to her, “I don’t have any regrets whatsoever. I would have dropped that job to sell beans cake on the streets because the circumstances that surrounded it were ones to run away from. So, I’m glad I made the choice and it paid off.” Speaking about the success of her movie series, ‘Lekki Wives,’ the theater Arts graduate, explained that the concept came while she was chatting with a friend about the things that goes on in Lekki and decided to make a series off it.

Adding that the Nigerian audience initially, didn't seem to believe that Nollywood was ready to make series films, but Lekki Wives seems to have changed that. Do you think she's right with this?
