Stephen Keshi's Link With Ethiopian Football Association May Be A Complete Fallacy

This is the report I got from a reliable source stating that the Ethiopian Football Association have denied having received any application or even negotiated any deal with former Nigerian Coach ‘Stephen Keshi’ as regards to moving into their coaching field.

According to the statement made by an Ethiopian top journalist “Taddeshp Mandefro” who works with the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation , he states that on hearing the news about this move to engage Keshi with the Nation’s football coaching, he quickly consulted with the Ethiopian Football Association to ascertain the truth behind the report, and it was confirmed that the EFA denied of ever negotiating any coaching deal with Keshi.

In the exact words of Taddeshp Mandefro, he says thus;


“I spoke with the EFA president Juneidin Basha yesterday (Sunday) on the report of Keshi taking over and he said the EFA have not received any application from Keshi for the EFA job,” Mandefro explained.


“Mariano Barreto remains the coach of the Ethiopian national team. Even though he is not doing too well right now, the EFA have not mentioned anything about sack.”

But on Stephen Keshi’s side, the big man seem not to be in a hurry for any coaching job at this moment, going by the statement he made earlier in an interview, as to know if the linking to the EFA is true, but he said that “Ethiopia is a great country” and further said that he’d rather take some time out of the coaching arena at least to have some break before deciding on any new job.
