President Jonathan at the Yaradua's home
Yesterday at Lafia in Nasarawa State, President Goodluck Jonathan stated that after his administration, anyone who will succeed him shall be someone younger in age than him.
Mr Jonathan alleged that in 2019, any person that must mount the saddle of leadership as the President of Nigeria under the aegis of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), they must ensure that the person does not exceed 57 years in age.
President Jonathan alleged that during the time of Obasanjo was 70 as the time he was elected president of Nigeria, while Umaru Musa Yar'adua who succeed him was in his early 60s, and now Goodluck as the president is almost 60 years , this is to show that the age gap is in descending order in tandem with the successive Presidents under the ruling PDP .
Goodluck Jonathan then finally said that anyone who emerges the Presidential candidate of PDP in 2019, but has age gap beyond 57 shall not be endorsed by him, and will not get his vote.
