Yesterday at about 2a.m, armed robbers attacked an Automated Teller Machine, and shot one of the security officials on duty post at the bank in Ado Ekiti , the capital of Ekiti State.
It was reported that the robbers took away an undisclosed amount of money, and this led to the customers not being attended to as they come for transactions at the bank, because several police men were seen in the premises of the bank after the attack.
As a result of this ugly incident, many other banks around that axis hurriedly shut their gates to prevent customer from entering for their various transactions amidst fears of getting attacked as well by the said armed robbers.
At the moment, the state police commissioner, Mr Taiwo Lakanu has confirmed that one of the men who attacked the bank has been apprehended and shall be used as a tool to capture others soonest.
