What Top Nigerian Musicians Earn Per Show

There is no doubt that most Nigerian musicians are living their dreams of becoming not only rich but also famous by the grace of their talents. Gone are those days when most parents force their children to study courses they termed professional in the higher institution rather than go into music. In fact, they now encourage their children or wards to stick more to their talents be it football, comedy, music or acting, as a lot of goodwill and goodies abound. As the Nigerian music becomes more popular and more appreciated in the country and beyond, the musicians are also smiling to the banks.

Below is a list of some highest paid Nigerian musicians.

P-Square

Top on the list is the twin sensation of Peter and Paul Okoye. They review their performance fee upward every year as they are known to churn out hits in any of their albums. They are also in hot demand within and outside Nigeria as they charge as much as N10 million per show within Nigeria and $200,000 outside Nigeria.

Their shows are always sold out.

Sometime ago, it was said that when Yahooz crooner, Olu Maintain, was at his peak P-Square was reportedly approached for a musical performance tour of some states in the United States of America. They allegedly demanded for $100,000 per show. The organisers pleaded that the show is just for the Nigerian communities and that they could only afford $50,000, P-Square refused. The same organisers however approached Olu Maintain for $10,000 per venue and he jumped at the offer. Maintain returned and used the proceeds to buy his Ikeja home.

The duo have shown over time that they don’t settle for less, even when a popular media outfit sought for their services few years ago at their annual award event, P-Square demanded for N5 million. The print media company begged for N3 million but the entertainers insisted that if it is not N5 million, then there would be no show. The company later got Tuface to perform for N3 million.

Flavour Nabania

Multi talented Flavour is raking in millions every week. He pockets between six and seven million (N6-7m) per show.  His ability to get all categories of people especially people from Igbo extraction to sing and dance to his ‘funkyfied’ highlife song is no mean feat. For that, he charges heavily to get his service. Outside Nigeria, Flavour who is very popular in francophone countries smiles to the bank with as much as N15 million converted to Nigerian currency and in Europe, he takes 15,000 Euros per show.

D’banj

Daniel Oyebanji better known as the Koko Master ranks third. Though his music career is no longer what it used to be but he remains a force to be reckon with as far as the Nigerian music is concerned. With his collabo with top foreign acts like Snoop Doggy Dog, Kanye West among others, he charges between N5 to N8 million. But before the split with Don Jazzy, he charged between N7 to N8 million per show.

Tuface Idibia

Officially Tuface takes N7 million for his efforts per show but because of his humanitarian nature, he could come down on the price depending on the show. He has done it severally on different occasions but he charges as much as $30,000 for gigs outside Nigeria.

Davido

Currently, David Adeleke, who is having a ball with his career, is in high demand. As a matter of fact, Davido is booked till the end of this year. The Aye crooner pockets between N5 to N7 million for local shows and between $20 to $30,000 for outside shows.

Wizkid

Known in Nigeria and around the world as a hit maker, the talented young man who is embroiled in supremacy battle with his long time friend, Davido, goes home with anything from N3 to N5 million.

Wande Coal

The former member of Mo’Hits and MARVIN Records is still wooing fans with his beautiful love songs and unique voice. He is still raking in money as he collects from N2 milion upward for his services.
Dr. Sid

The son of the late veteran actor, Justice Esiri, Dr. Sidney Esiri, has shown without a doubt that he is indeed called into the entertainment industry as against the medical profession which he has an enviable degree to his credit. To get him to perform, the organiser (s) would have to part with N3 million and in some cases N5 million within the country but $20,000 must be paid into his account before he releases his voice for any outside concert.

Kukere exponent and his Made Men Music are living up to expectation with every single in their repertoire. Iyanya Mbuk charges fromN3 million up and up to 15,000 Euros per show outside Nigeria land.
