Indomie Instant food give N6 Million award prize to school kids
I have just confirmed that the most popular food company in Nigeria 'Indomie Instant Noodles' under the aegis of Dufil Prima Foods Plc that seem to have captured the hearts of students in all schools in Nigeria starting from those in the Kindergarten, Nursery, Primary, Secondary and also the Tertiary institution have awarded scholarships to three lucky winners students that emerged winners at the 2014 Indomie Independence Day Awards with a cash award worth of N6 Million.
The main event had the cream and crops of the society within Lagos state in attendance. Such dignitaries that graced that occasion are; Group Managing Director, First Bank, Bisi Onasanya, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, Chief Bode Akindele, Chairman Masandola group.
These people donated the sum of N2.25 million, N500,000 and N1million respectively in support of the empowerment by Dufil Prima Foods Plc.
As the Group managing Director of Dufil Prima Food 'Mr Deepak Singhal' gave his welcome address speech, he said that it is the 7th edition of this event and that it is quite fortunate that it conincides with the International Girl Child Day Celebration of 2014. So it is quite a nice thing to use it as a means to identify with, recognize and reward some of these children that have distinguished themselves following their exemplary academic excellence and positive achievements.

In his words, he goes by saying;
“This event is noteworthy as it seeks to fill the gap that exists in celebrating and rewarding the positive efforts, strong character, and achievements of many young children who have exhibited various acts of courage and heroism at one time or the other within the country”.
According to Singhal, Dufil Prima Foods identified this gap in 2008 and decided to take up the challenge by not only recognizing these young heroes, but also providing scholarship opportunities for these children whose actions have touched lives in their immediate communities and beyond,”.
He goes further to say that;
The success of this event over the past 7 years, proves that it is indeed a landmark Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative needed for the developmental growth of the Nigerian child.

In the exact winners category of the 7th edition award of Indomie are as follows;
1) 15-year old Aniema Udokang from Cross River, helped save an accident victim on IBB way in Calabar;
2) 14-year old Semiya Modashiru helped save the lives of one baby by apprehending and confronting a kidnapper at a bus garage in Ogijo.
3) And 10-yrs old Bassey Itam helped a boy bitten by a snake.
The winners in the first, second and third categories smiled home with N2,590,000, N1, 980,000, N1, 430, 000 worth of scholarship respectively.
Congratulations to these kids that won the cash prize, and hope that other food companies will follow the lead of the Indomie instant noodle to help in this empowerment project in the Nigerian nation.
