Federal High Court Discharges And Acquits Femi Fani-Kayode Of Money Laundering


Femi Fani Kayode was discharged and acquitted from the 38 offences of Money laundering by EFCC

Femi Fani Kayode was yesterday discharged and acquitted of 38 out of the 40-count charges charges of Money Laundering  that was levelled against him by the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission [EFCC] since 2008.


The presiding  judge whose names are 'Justice Rita Ofili Ajumogobia' when passing her judgment said that EFCC hadn't provided any evidence proving the the former Minister of Aviation is guilty of the 38 count charge of money laundering  levelled against him. She further said that the witnesses brought by the prosecution counsel since the inception of the trial had not provided any evidence that the former Minister had any sort of dealings with them at all.

However, she discharged and acquitted him of the 38-count charges, and thereby instructed him to file for defence against the two other count charges. To this extent, the Judge then adjourned the case until the 8th of December, 2014 for further hearing.
