FG Extends State Of Emergency In Yobe, Adamawa And Borno States


FG approves extension of state of emergency in Yobe, Adamawa and Borno states

The federal government yesterday approved the extension of state of emergency in Yobe, Adamawa And Borno States, because they have been worst hit by Boko-Haram terrorism in recent times.

According to report, this decision was made at the National Defence Council meeting that was presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday at the Presidential villa, Abuja.


After the meeting, the  Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, 'Muhammed Adoke' while briefing newsmen said that the decision of the council shall be duly communicated to the National Assembly for approval.

It was recorded that the first state of Emergency declared on these states was around May,2013, and since then, it has been extended twice, if this one is granted, it will be the third extension.
