Oh yes, this happened right there in China, according to Chinese Online News Site 'Kotaku', in which it reports that a rich young guy from the Guangzhou district in China,  who's so obsessed with iPhones decided to take a bold step to propose his girlfriend with 99 iPhones, in which he used the 99 iPhones to make a design of LOVE on the ground while he stepped into it with his said girlfriend, at the scintillating watch of their friends, but to his utter dismay, she rejected the proposal and walked away from him.
