Report reaching me has it that Nigeria's President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, and the governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, had a coincidental meeting at the residence of the former Military Head Of State, General Ibrahim Babangida (IBB) at his castle in Minna, Niger State.
General IBB had just arrived into the country from a medical trip abroad, and these two political leaders had separately gone to meet with him as to welcome him back home, but were surprised as they met each other at the General's place.
This is not a new thing or an abomination for them to meet together, but because of the misunderstanding that cropped up at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rally 3-days ago at the Capital city of Jigawa State, Dutse, where the host governor , Sule Lamido made an open statement about his rejection against President Jonathan's re-election bid of 2015, because of certain reasons.
So it was more like a planned trip by these two persons, but according to Sule Lamido, the meeting of both himself and President Jonathan at General IBB's home is not coincident, as he has already planned visiting the former Head of State, but due to some circumstances beyond his control he wasn't able to make not until this day, and it happens that the President is also coming there too.
So from the look of things, it is perceived that the General may act as a mediator between Gov. Lamido and President Jonathan, to settle their differences.
