Yacine Brahimi is the winner of 2014 BBC African Player of the Year Awards
Yacine Brahimi, an Algerian, and also an FC Porto star swept the Nigerian Goal-keeper, and Lille FC goalie, Vincent Enyeama, of the 2014 BBC African Player Awards last night.
Yacine Brahimi secured more votes than his other opponents from other African countries, such as , Gervinho from Ivory Coast, Pierre Emerre Aubameyang of Gabon, Yaya Toure of Ivory Coast, and finally, the man whom this award was contested head-to-head, which is Vincent Enyeama of Nigeria.

Yacine Brahimi, was full of joy for having won this BBC award since his football career, and in his speech at the event when receiving the honor on BBC Radio, "I dedicate the award to my family, all the African countries and especially my country, Algeria. This trophy is going to give me some strength, the desire to learn and also some inspiration for some great performances.
"The African Cup of Nations will be a huge inspiration for me and I hope it can drive me and Algeria on to great things at the tournament in the New Year," he concluded.
