Photos Of Michelle Keegan As She Lands First Role After Quitting Coronation Street In Major New BBC Drama
Michelle Keegan has swapped the cobbles for the car showroom after landing a new part in a major BBC drama. The 27-year-old’s first role since quitting Corrie as barmaid Tina is in Ordinary Lies written by Bafta-winner Danny Brocklehurst. She plays the showroom’s receptionist – alongside a host of other stars including Jo Joyner, Sally Lindsay, Jason Manford , Mackenzie Crook and Max Beesley. The six-part series follows the everyday lives of shifty car salesmen (Manford, Joyner and Crook) and other staff at the northern firm. More photos of Michelle Keegan after this cut...
An insider said: “The characters are likeable but they don’t always tell the truth. Some lies start off huge, others are tiny and grow. “It shows what happens when the lies people tell to keep their heads above water spin out of control with sometimes tragic sometimes funny consequences.” Brocklehurst’s past hits include Shameless and The Street.
Michelle, due to wed Strictly star Mark Wright next year, quit Corrie in May after six years when Tina was murdered. She hinted at her BBC role, starting in the spring, last month by declaring: “I’ve an exciting job in the pipeline.”
