According to source, he says that the reason behind him chosen this kind of car amidst the luxury ride by his counterpart governors is because he wants to always be close to the common Nigerian with their day-to-day sufferings and lifestyle. Having a luxury for a ride will create a wide distance between him and his subjects, and thereby may never grant him the insight to the level of problem that stare on the face of the common populace. This is such a wonderful thing I must, as I've never come across this kind of humbleness in my lifetime within the political ruling class especially on the African descent in recent time.
The only case that is synonymous to this one displayed by Governor Ayo Fayose is that of the Pope Francis' rejection of the luxury official car in place of the small and humble car that he rides even as the Most respected and celebrated figure in the World.
If our leaders can learn from this, I think the common man won't have any cause to regret of his existence in our world.
