Trader At Ojo Alaba International Market In Lagos state, Kills A Man For Cheap Bargain Of His Goods

Ojo-Alaba International Market, Lagos

This is a very horrible story to hear, because I've never heard of this kind of thing in my life before! A trader at the Ojo-Alaba International Market in Lagos state whose names are ' Lawrence Ikonne' was arrested by the men of the Nigerian Police force for allegedly killing a man that came to buy some goods from him. It was said that this was due to a misunderstanding that ensued from cheap or low bargain of his goods.

This incident happened at Ikonne’s house at Afromedia Estate, Okokomaiko, Lagos , where the buyer 'Yaya' was invited to by Ikonne.

Read the full report below, from the suspect 'Lawrence Ikonne' himself, while he was being interrogated by the Police.

Yaya, the dead victim of Ikonne Lawrence's cheap-pricing goods

“I had not met the young man before. I met him that morning at the Alaba market, and asked him to buy one of my appliances: an air conditioner. He actually looked like a cart pusher. When we got home, we both went in to remove the product, and we brought it outside for negotiation. As we continued, he said he would pay less than N5, 000. I replied that he should assist me to return it to where we took it from, but he refused. In the process, we started fighting. He even asked me to pay him for helping me bring it out. I was mad, and I hit his belly with a plank. When I realised he had fainted, I tied him with a rope and dragged him into a corner. I also fled the house.”

A co-tenant of  Ikonne was the one that  noticed Yaya’s tied up corpse, raised an alarm, and immediately reported the case to the Okokomaiko police station within the area.
