Major General Chris Olukolade Says The Fight Against Insurgence Is Atypical

Director of Defence Information "Major General Chris Olukolade"

Nigeria's Director of Defence Information "Major General Chris Olukolade' in his statement earlier at an event in the far away Atlanta Georgia, USA where he was conferred with an award of "Distinguished Military Information Expert " by the Alfred Daniel King Foundation, said that the fight against insurgency is quite an atypical war.

He stated that some International communities have always  perceived Nigeria as a country that is suffused with bad eggs, and therefore is a country that would never make a success in realizing its goals, by so doing they look down on Nigeria and as well make mockery of it , with the mindset that its military is impotent and could not withstand the heat of fighting terrorism and curbing insurgency.

In his words according to SunNews "“It is important for critics to realise that the war against the terrorists is not conventional but purely a guerilla warfare, where terrorists fight sporadically and melt back into the social system.” he said.

He then enjoined Nigerians and some international communities who seem not to understand the kind of war terrorism is, that they should always circumspect their information especially concerning the Nigeria Military, whom they interpret as being abusive to human right policies in the fight against insurgency, before letting it out because, obviously, Nigerian Military is a respecter of of human rights and would never any any point violate such even as the heat of terrorism fight stiffens.
