President GEJ & FEC Members Honour Late Gbenga Ashiru

In the photo above, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GEJ) was seen together with the members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) observe a moment of silence to pay tribute in honour of the late Ambassador Gbenga Ashiru, who recently passed on.


Ambassador Gbenga Ashiru was the former Minister of Foreign Affairs for the period of 2 years, beginning from 2011 to 2013.  While he was the Foreign Minister, he championed the course of Nigerians who were ill-treated via mass repatriation by the South African government, for which he also did same to the South Africans residing in Nigeria.

Former Foreign Affairs Minister , Amb. Olugbenga Ashiru, died at 66

Ambassador Olugbenga Ashiru was one time Nigeria's envoy to the United Kingdom, Democratic People’s Republic Of Korea,  Kingdom of Lesotho,  Swaziland and South Africa.

 He passed on in South Africa at the age 66. May his soul Rest in Peace, Amen.
