It has been stated that the Niger Delta ex militant leader Government Ekpemokpolo, who is popularly known as Tompolo, has just acquired himself new war ships.
But the Director General of the Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr Patrick Akpobolokemi came out publicly to refute that claim of Tompolo buying any such thing as warships, rather, they are boats that are intended to be used by the Nigerian Navy in fighting criminals that carry out crude oil bunkering, along the coastal lines.
It was confirmed that Tompolo's company, Global West Vessels Specialist Limited (GWVSL) was under contract with the NIMASA to purchase all necessary equipments that will aid in ensuring that the stealing of crude oil, otherwise known as bunkering is fought to a standstill.
This is was the actual reason those who were not well informed began spreading the news that he bought Warships.
