Just yesterday, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came out and gave an insight into the N21 billion that it generated at the President Goodluck Jonathan's Presidential Fund Raising Campaign.
The PDP made this defence through the Chairman of the Fund Raising Committee of the party, Professor Jerry Gana, who stated that N10 billion is budgeted for the completion of the party's secretariat which for some time been moribund. while the remaining balance of the money shall be projected into other party affairs within the 36 states of the federation.
The party therefore said that it would never work against the stipulated rules as was given by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by raising excess money to fund elections, as it will be going contrary to the laws of the election governing body.
