Ekiti: Fayose Won't Recognise Fayemi's New Appointments – PDP

Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the incoming Ayodele Fayose Administration will not recognise all appointments and recruitments made by the Governor Kayode Fayemi Administration after the June 21 governorship election in the state. The party noted that the Fayemi Administration has acted callously and primitively as no responsible outgoing government will put land mines in the way of its successor through frivolous recruitments and booby elevation to its top- most positions few weeks to the handover. The State Publicity Secretary, Pastor Kola Oluwawole, who stated this in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday, said the party also had records of staff strength in the state public service before June 21 poll and was following the bogus appointments and illegal recruitment being done in various sectors afterwards. According to the statement, the attitude of the outgoing administration was to try as much as possible to frustrate the incoming one and deliberately set land mines for it.

“We know what the staff strength in the core civil service, the teaching service, the local government, the House of Assembly, the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State and others was before the June 21 governorship election in which our party thoroughly trounced Fayemi and his All Progressives Congress (APC). “We also know how the Fayemi administration has illegally recruited over 3,000 into the civil service, 1,000 into Ekiti State University, over 100 into BSES, over 1,500 into the Teaching Service, among others, after they lost the election and how they are clever by half by backdating the letters of appointment. “The question the good people of Ekiti State should ask Fayemi and his party is why are they just waking up to engage in massive recruitment in the twilight of their tenure in office? Those given such letters of appointment should consider themselves to be on temporary appointment and as having a victory that is short-lived,” the statement said.

The Ekiti PDP noted that the most embarrassing aspect of the dastardly act of sabotage by the Fayemi government was the unethical recruitment of several non-indigenes after sensing that majority of Ekiti people understood his unholy parting gift in the name of the ongoing fraudulent recruitment exercise which is believed to be unable to stand the test of time. It reiterated the warning by the PDP that any civil servant caught conniving to perpetrate the illegal act would be treated as a political civil servant, an enemy of the progress in Ekiti State, because it is expected that any reasonable civil servant would understand that the state had been plunged into a very huge debt by the outgoing government to the extent that the Federal Allocation to the state was being used to service debt.

“It is pertinent to note here that there is no civil servant in the state that does not understand the magnitude of the debt that the state has incurred under the outgoing government and the implications on the economy of the state and the state's finances.
“In as much as the incoming PDP government led by the Governor-Elect, Dr Ayo Fayose, takes the welfare of the people of Ekiti State as a priority, we strongly condemn the divisive and destructive shenanigans being dangerously displayed by the outgoing administration.“The incoming Fayose administration has its blueprint for the development and growth of the state, including employment opportunities for youths and we promise not to disappoint the people,” the statement added.

The people of Ekiti State are happy about Fayose's win, and we hope he'll sure give them his best in the course of his administration.  Do you wish the same too? Send us your comment right here.
