59 Persons Got Killed In A Suicide Bomber Attack In Maiduguri Market, Leaving 92 Badly Injured

The scene of the bomb blast yesterday at the city's market in Maiduguri

It was a sad day in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital yesterday following the a male and female suicide bombers that struck the city's market,at about 11:30am  by detonating the Improvised Explosives Devices [IEDs] which led to about 59 people killed, while about 92 got inflicted with varying degrees of wounds.

It was said that because the dead victims were too much, that it couldn't be piled up in one morgue, and that made the police force and their rescue team to carry about 35 corpses to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, and then 24 corpses left were deposited to the state's specialist hospital in Maiduguri.

According to a military report, the female suicide bomber was noticed to be the first person to detonate her bomb, causing so many around that area in the market dead, and as many gathered round at the scene to see and check for those that died, minutes later, the male suicide bomber then detonated his IED, wrecking more havoc in the loss of lives than what his female counter-part actually did.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Borno state 'Gideon Jubrin' confirmed to journalists that there was actually bomb blasts at the market in Maiduguri, but could be quite sure as to the number of persons that lost their lives in that unfortunate incident.
