IG of Police 'Suleiman Abba' being walked away from by House of Reps committee members
The house of Representatives yesterday in a long hour meeting questioned the Inspector General of Police 'Suleiman Abba' over what led to the incursion of the National Assembly last Thursday which also led to the throw teargas canister on the Speaker House of Representatives 'Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal'.
The IG in his response stated that they got information that some unscrupulous elements is of the plan to invade the National Assembly, and that led to him assigning men of the police force to mount security all over the complex to prevent such people from gaining access to the environment.
In the course of his statement, he stated that owing to that intelligent report, the men of the police force then made the complex impenetrable , resulting to one Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal led group of brutes to subjugate the security guards mounted at the first gate, as result of such act, the police then moved quickly and seal the second gate, and threw teargas canisters.
Meanwhile, before he could make a conclusion of his statement, the committee member had already been much enraged over the recklessness at which the IG addressed the Speaker of House of Reps, by calling him " Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal", this led the House committee to mandate him to address the Speaker appropriately, but he said the case about the Speaker is already in the confines of the competent court of law.
To this end, the House of Reps Committee walked away from the IG and said the case shall be reentered for further hearing, and that since he refused to acknowledge the Speaker House of Assembly, they would never acknowledge him as IG as well.
