Dakuku Peterside, emerges APC consensus governorship candidate

Just yesterday being Thursday the 27th November, 2014, many persons from the Ogoni community were spotted on the streets of Port-Harcourt in protest against the All Progressive Congress [APC] consensus governorship candidate 'Mr Dakuku Peterside', who is representing Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, stating that they rebuff such action by the party.

The people's agitation is on the fact they do not agree to his candidature, instead, they have espoused to the candidacy of  Magnus Abe, who is the current senator representing Rivers South-East in the National Assembly.

Meanwhile, the people of Ogoni clan more especially the youths, have sworn never to accede to such outcome of the party stakeholders, and thereby call on the governor of Rivers State, Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, who is the leader of the party in the state to overturn that judgment and carry out a fresh governorship election primaries.

This protest led to blockade of major roads in the state, which then led the state police securities to fire  some gun shots into the air to enable the dispersal of the protesters.
