High Court Kicks Out Suit Filed By TB Joshua To Restrict Coroner Inquest On Collapsed Synagogue Church

Pastor TB Joshua of SCOAN

The Court of Law sitting in Lagos has overruled the suit filed by the founder and general overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nation (SCOAN), Pastor TB Joshua, over his request that the court should restrain the coroner inquest which is being carried out to ascertain the main cause of his Church's collapse of September 12, 2014.

The Magistrate of the Court, O.A Komolafe, refused to grant such request, because that Church's collapsing incident cost over 116 lives, and it is very necessary that the root cause of that disaster is revealed to enable proper precautionary measures against a recurrence anywhere within the country.

The Judge, O.A Komolafe, thereby stated that going by the jurisdiction of the High court, it has never been stated that the coroner be halted for any reasons whatsoever, under the Rule 40 Order 6 paragraph (a) of the Lagos State High Court Civil Procedural Rule, 2012; so the coroner inquest is predicated on the basis to avert such a dreaded disaster from taking place again.

And the case was adjourned until tomorrow , Friday, the 12th of December, 2014 for further hearing.

  1. The coroner inquest should be continued to know the cause of that building collapse. Why must it be asked to stop? or is there something we must be told now?
