President Goodluck Jonathan, emerges as the PDP Consensus candidate for Presidency
The incumbent President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, after emerging as the consensus candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the national convention held by the party in Abuja, made a solemn promise to all the delegates for having reposed in him so much confidence, as to return him unopposed the Presidential candidate of the PDP, so he could vie for a second term in the office of Presidency.
He therefore assured them of his honest service, and to the entire Nigerian populace that he will live beyond expectations, to ensure that more progress is made in the course of governance within the nation. And that he will work assiduously to ensure that there is consolidation of the gains achieved so far in his administration.
He also confirmed to all Nigerians that he has adopted his Vice President, Namadi Sambo, as his Presidential running mate, because he has been a very loyal, patriotic, and supportive of him as they champion the course of this great nation all these years.
He also affirmed his sincere love to his wife, who has remained a strong pillar around him ever since, and pledged his total commitment to leadership service.
In the statement he made on air at the convention ground, “I will give my all. I will not let you down. I will not fail the PDP. I will not fail you. Above all, I promise, I will not fail our great nation, Nigeria.” he said.
