APC Finally Endorses Tinubu As Buhari's Running Mate For 2015 General Elections, Says John Odigie Oyegun, National Chairman

Chief John Odigie Oyegun, APC National Chairman

The All Progressive Congress (APC) has finally accepted the endorsement of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Vice Presidential running mate of Rtd. General Muhammadu Buhari, who recently emerged their Presidential candidate in the primary election held by the party.

Since after the emergence of Buhari, there seems to be a tussle amongst the party stalwarts as which  of the geopolitical zones shall be given the slot to produce the vice presidential candidate for the party.

To that effect, the APC chieftains resolved to award the position of the Vice President to South West, and that led to the emergence of Bola Tinubu.

But this Tinubu's candidacy actually caused an internal feud within the party, as some of the APC governors made their total rejection of that decision. But it seems that finally after due consultations of the party Chieftains yesterday by the Chairman, John Odigie Oyegun, they have decided to let the sleeping dog lie, and have unanimously echoed one voice over the choice of Bola Tinubu, as their consensus Vice Presidential candidate for the 2015 general elections.

Even though there is still rumours about the possible chosen of another person to be his running mate by the Presidential aspirant of the party, Buhari, as it is his sole right to choose that, and some others were optimistic that he may not pick Tinubu.   It is expected that Wednesday, 18th December, shall be the last day for announcing the actual person, so the names can be forwarded to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ratification.
