Ohaneze Ndigbo In South Africa Charges Enugu State For Free And Fair Elections

Ohaneze Ndigbo in South Africa

The Ohaneze Ndigbo, the apex body of a socio-political group from the South Eastern part of Nigeria, who resides in South Africa has called on the concerned authorities in Enugu State to ensure that the February 2015 election must be conducted in a very peaceful manner that will depict free and fair.

Ohaneze Ndigbo made this statement known to the newsmen in Enugu State through its leader in South Africa, Chief Mike Urama, in a reception put in place by the branch of this socio-political body in the state.

This body therefore charged the state government and al politicians to shun the use of violence to seek elective post, that is to undo with thuggery, electoral malpractice and all other kinds of ills that may mar the elections.

It also enjoined the ruling party in the state, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to do everything possible to settle the disagreement that is existing in the party over the choice of  Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, whom the party and the state has chosen to be their gubernatorial candidate in the elections, since the candidature of Ugwuanyi is one that is applauded by all in the state.
