David Mark Fails To Obtain Automatic Re-election Tickets For Some Senators

David Mark's attempt to clinch re-election tickets for some serving senators proved abortive

It may be said to be a futile effort for the Senate President, David Mark over his move to secure automatic re-election tickets from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for some of the serving senators who can be said to be principal officers in the Hallow Chambers.

This bid which may have been foiled by some of the state governors where these senators hail from were confirmed to be the tools through which this goal was not met, even with the attempt of the President himself, Goodluck Jonathan as well as that of the Senate President too.

It was stated according to Vanguard News that Senate President, David Mark led some members of the Senate to the Presidential Villa lately to seek the executive powers of the President in ensuring that these senators who are being denied of the re-election tickets from the PDP in their various states were granted that opportunity.

Even as Goodluck Jonathan agreed to mediate in the situation, and he called for a meeting with the affected state governors to resolve the situation in favor of these serving senators, but words reaching to the public was that not all of them were present in convention, and this is to say that the future does not spell good for the returning of these senators to the Hallow Chambers in this present legislative tenure.
