Nigerians Have Been Asked To Calm Down Over Power Outage Challenges, Says The Federal Government.

The Minister for Power, 'Professor Chinedu Nebo' have been pleaded to Nigerians to calm down and exercise some patience over the epileptic-power supply which may have been the current challenge for the past few weeks now all over the country. The Minister stated this at World-stage National Electricity Power Conference, in Lagos; saying that the federal is very much aware of the cut-down in power so low than usual that has trailed the Nigerian populace recently, which may have resulted to the rationalizing of power to enable every family have access to light at least for about 6-8-hours a day.

He stated that it is true to that Power is the source and fundamental of any robust economy, but it sad that the decline in power generation in the country at this time is something that is giving the his ministry and the federal government a great challenge owing to the dropping of power to as low as 2,000 megawatts in the last few days, and this has in truly threatened business as well as standard of living of Nigerians.

The Power Minister who spoke through his Special Adviser on Investment, Finance and Human Resources, 'Mr. Olajuwon Olaleye' said that the federal government being very much aware of this ugly situation is also at the helm of affairs to ensure that this situation is brought to normalcy in the shortest possible time.

Furthermore, he stated that the biggest challenge with power in Nigeria is funds, as it will be needing about $7.7 billion to get power stabilized and as well about $5 billion to maintain growth in the power sector for the next couple of years. But be it as it may, they are working assiduously to ensure that these challenges faced within the power sector is been risen above sooner or later.
