US Government On Ebola: Seek Approach From Nigeria On How To Control Ebola In US

After Nigeria has so far effectively contained the huge spread of the deadly Ebola virus, United States’ Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is quite impressed by the methods Nigeria used.

So, following the discovery of the first case of Ebola Virus diagnosed in the United States, the CDC has sent its staff to study how Nigeria contained the deadly disease.

A statement released by CDC Director Tom Frieden stated that Nigeria’s “extensive response to a single case of Ebola shows that control is possible with rapid, focused interventions.” In addition to visiting Nigeria, CDC officials will also visit Senegal to study its containment model.

“The best practices in Nigeria and Senegal suggest the U.S. should monitor all individuals who may have been exposed to Ebola and establish a dedicated management and response system,” Frieden said.
