Nobel Laureate 'Wole Soyinka' Testifies Being A Cancer Survivor, States Measures To Eradicate It

Professor Wole Soyinka, the first African to be sole honoured with the award of a Nobel Laureate, testifies on how he battled cancer which then makes him a survivor of such deadly ailment in our world today.

The renowned play-writer narrated this at a press conference yesterday in Ogun State that in December 2013, he was diagnosed of cancer and that he never tolerated it, but only did his best to ensure that it is eliminated from his body.


According to the 80-year old Prof, “an unwanted squatter in his body." He later resolved that he "had to get rid of it whether it is a slow growing one or malignant.” He said.

He therefore espoused awareness and preemptive measures to curbing the propagation of the deadly disease, and that it's requires early detection and appropriate nutrition to getting rid of it and that is why he's seen to be in good health state now.

At the same vein, his son, Dr Olaokun Soyinka , who is the present Commissioner of Health in Ogun State confirmed the case of his father's encounter with 'prostate cancer' and  said that it is been treated and gone at this time.
