Peter Odili Regrets To Have Espoused Amaechi To Be Governor

Peter Odili, former governor of Rivers State

Just at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship rally for its gubernatorial candidate, Nyesom Wike at the Ndoni Local Government  Area of Rivers State, the former Governor of the state, Dr Peter Odili stated his total regret  as to the reason why he espoused Rotimi Amaechi in becoming the governor of Rivers State.

He said that the Rivers State party is in unity and that it was the PDP, but it is very unfortunate that Governor Rotimi Amaechi has caused a total breakdown of the party in the state, causing disaffection within the state, as he has left the very party that brought him into power to another party which only incites violence and disunity among the Rivers people.

He further stated that long before the Amaechi's administration, Rivers State was loyal and respectful to the national leadership of the party and its hierarchy but this is not the case today. He said that as the governor of Rivers State back then, he supported the political aspiration of Rotimi Amaechi with all good intentions, and little did he know that he [Amaechi] was with a deceptive mien.

Dr Peter Odili further thanked Nyesom Wike for having rescued the PDP from breaking into pieces and that they will work to ensure that both President Goodluck Jonathan is re-elected and that Nyesom Wike is elected the governor of Rivers State come general elections of 14th of February 2015.
