Good Morning Nigerians: From The Corner Of The Author of Ymzonline Blog; "Magnus Hyacinth"

Magnus Hyacinth "Author" Ymzonline.blogspot.com

Good morning Nigerians, I would sincerely oblige to the resolution of the Lower Legislature on the basis of expunging the immunity clause of the Presidency and its arms, even though it may not necessarily be the major cause of Nigerian problems on the path of governance. The Legislature as well as the Judiciary seem not to realize the level of power they weigh as part of the respected institutions in a democratic setting, rather, they have decided to always play into the hands of the Executive arm of government at dispensing their Legal and constitutional duties, at any given time, thereby undermining their rights as well as the hope and confidence reposed upon them by the Nigerian populace.

This macabre roulette will continue to rotate so fiercely and negatively to the detriment of our nascent and "long-sought-after Democracy"; And as such continue to breed in corrupt political office holders who will for a very long time live and prey on the helpless and unprotected poor masses who seem to have no other hope in reaping the dividends of Democracy save for the effective representation by those whom they have reposed confidence in through the collective mandate given to the so-called representatives through Election franchise.

Looting of public funds with impunity by our so- called leaders will continue to stigmatize and afflict on Nigerians very deep wounds, until this quagmire within the Nigerian political office holders as well as in the Bureaucracy is "Patriotically" addressed, then I wouldn't say that our Democratic Emancipation of barley 15-years ago, will still for long remain a dream only realized on the media outlook, because certainly to many Nigerians it doesn't seem like a reality......

  1. You are right about this in-toto because corruption is the main cause of Nigeria's problem not even the immunity clause. But if our leaders can render selfless service in their leadership stewardship, then I think this country shall blossom in prosperity.

  2. Nice piece my dear, corruption is the bane of leadership problems in Nigeria, it's only when this issue is solved then, we can think of a democracy. God bless you ymzonline blog. You truly deserve awards on your works.

  3. It is true that we have got no democracy yet, until our leaders are made to know that it is by the mandate of the people they are there. Until then, Nigeria cannot say they've gotten it right. Nice one

  5. Some people have tried to define the problems that have gotten Nigeria bedridden since Independence, but here it comes glaring before us, that it is none other than "CORRUPTION" If this is not checkmated, then there is no headway for us. That's my humble opinion to your article.

  6. I weep for this nation, because our leaders have no interest of the people at heart. You are right about this, corruption is sitting atop our leadership, and that is the major sickness we are having to deal with. It's more deadly than the just eradicated Ebola epidemic

  7. Such is the burden Nigerian have to bear for leadership status saddled by ungodly and people-oriented politicians. Corruption is our only problem, until it is jettisoned from every Nigerian mindset, then we cannot achieve any meaningful success in our democratic platform.

  8. I may not be a politician or a political analyst, but one thing I'm so sure about is that Nigeria has not been lucky with leadership since after Independence, owing to the egocentric nature of our politicians, and this is why corruption may never leave the corridors of power in Nigeria. But one will only pray that God reverts Nigerian political system , else we all will continue to wallow in penury in the midst of plenty.

You are doing great work in your blog, I must commend you Ymzonline Blog, because many of us Nigerians in the UK read your posts. All the best.

  9. I'm not among those people that play to the gallery by keeping a blind eyes to the truth. I'm saying this because you are 100 percent right about corruption within our political office holders, but another thing we may be keeping behind us is that this corruption is not only in the political landscape, but even within the Nigerian masses, so once it's addressed then, those who may want to be in political power will live to discharge their duties aright, because it is through us Nigerians that these so-called politicians do emerge from. I salute you Ymzonline blog for bringing such a burning issue to your blog. May God continue to strengthen you in your good works.

  11. You are right about this Ymzonline Blog, because it is not about immunity clause or election malpractices that is the major problems in Nigeria, but the act of corruption is the point we cannot override, because with this in the system, Nigeria will never progress amidst the colossal human and natural endowments. So it's better this is dealt with now or never.

  12. Corruption in all truthfulness has eaten deep into the fabrics of Nigerian lineage, and this is why we can hardly elect any leader in Nigeria that is devoid of this "virus" because it seems to be feeding fat in many if not to everyone there. It's only if we be truthful to ourselves and say no to it, that is only when we can seek for divine intervention.

  13. Sometime I read in a magazine in the UK about how rich Nigeria is owing to the oil boom , yet its citizens are so poor, and it that article the cause was labelled corruption. And here I bumped into your post stating corruption as the main cause of Nigerian problem, and I ask, why can't someone make a change as a political leader in Nigeria? Does it mean every person that grabs the political seat automatically becomes corrupt? What happens to morals, that is guided by conscience? I weep for this country.

  14. I wonder when this leaders will have a rethink to know that wealth can't stop one from dying neither will it buy ever-lasting life. It's time they realized the reason for them being there is to serve the people and not to amass wealth that is meant for the entire Nigerians. They should remember posterity...

  15. I'm sure that Nigeria will come over this corruption saga soonest, I see a Nigeria of tomorrow where the people with sound minds and goal-oriented with total fear of God will take over the saddle of leadership, then Nigeria will experience true democracy. It's coming soon.

  16. Hopefully, this ugly menace will faze out someday, only if we all strive to keep our tracks clean in any path we find ourselves. I believe we can make difference in this country.

  17. Thank God that we have young people that can speak out in this manner, I'm not hopeless, if only other young people like you out there can conceive this kind of idea so as not to play along with these ill-minded politicians whenever they beckon on them, then I'm sure Nigeria will soon outwit the problem of corruption in our land

  18. I came across this blog and I must say I'm glad to have seen it because it's truly educating and interesting. I must say corruption never lets progress to grow anywhere in the world. The best thing to do is to run a government that will be open to the people that is accountability, that way corruption will find no place

  26. When I read your article I realized that this is more serious than I thought, but this is nothing but the truth, and I know by collective effort, we shall move beyond our challenges. God bless you ymzonline blog

  27. well said my dear, corruption is rife in our nation, but God will see us through, because I still believe there are good people such as you out there.

  28. I believe that if all of Nigerians can be honest to ourselves in all we do, then this issue of corruption will never exist. Greed and insatiable appetite for accumulation of wealth by all means possible, even when it means looting the public treasury, so far as the money is made, then it's okay.

This has continued to linger in most of our blood and it's the reason corruption is on the increase in Nigeria.

  29. It's well with us, that is my prayer for our nation

  30. As long as these same old politicians continue to be in power, corruption may never leave the corridors of power. All we need is a revolution to bring our country to sanity.

  31. With God on our side, and with good young people as you my dear, the future of this nation may be said to be bright. And not too long, our dream of a corrupt free country shall hold sway. Cheer up, God is in control.
