60 Political Thugs Out Of 300 Were Arrested For Overrunning Ebonyi House Of Assembly

House of Assembly Members beaten by Thugs in Ebony State

The men of the Nigerian Police Force have made an arrest of about 60 political thugs out of over 300 that overran the Ebonyi State House of Assembly in Abakiliki, the state capital, beating the House leader, Sam Nwali, as well as many other members, as they stopped them from entering the Assembly ground.

These thugs were stated to have invaded the Ebony State Assembly quarters, mounting guards as they locked up the gates that led to the chambers thereby preventing many of the House Members from gaining entrance for their session.

It was also gathered that as a result of this, many of the House members who tried to gain their way into the chambers forcefully were badly hurt, as some were beaten until they were helpless on the ground.

One of the members of the State Assembly confirmed to newsmen that it was the security operatives that spearheaded the attacks on the House members, as they assaulted the Deputy Speaker, Blaise Orji, as well as the Chief Whip, Kingsley Ikoro, and about 9 other members.

This was as a result of the fact that the State House of Assembly was divided in two factions, and it is supposedly one of the factions that led this attack.
