Nigerian And Chelsea Midfielder, Mikel Obi Scored First Goal In UEFA Championships League Against Sporting Lisbon

John Mikel Obi, scored first UEFA Champions League goal

The embattled Nigerian Super Eagles player and Chelsea midfielder, John Mikel Obi, yesterday for the first time since his football career, lifted the goal banner, as his side, Chelsea football club of England, battle if out with the Sporting Lisbon of Portugal in the UEFA Champions League last night.

This Chelsea club of England defeated their Portuguese opponent by 3 goals to 1, thereby securing a  top position in their group, and which then steers them strongly into the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions league contest.

The Blues got their first goal in the match through Cesc Fabregas, while their second was netted by Andre Schurrle, and the third one arrived from the Nigerian star, Mikel Obi, to seal it 3-1 in their favor.
But before John Mikel Obi's goal, the Sporting Lisbon star, Jonathan Silva, was the one that redeemed his side image from being trashed undented by the Chelsea, by scoring one goal to their own advantage and glory, even though they were trounced after all.

  1. Quite fortunate for Mikel Obi, at least this will uplift him right now, and place him on the spotlight, maybe it'll be a revival of his career again. Wish him all the best
